1. President's Report: Robert Merrett thanked the local organizers on behalf of the Society in English, and Georges Berubé thanked the organizers en français. The President announced the formation of a committee made up of himself, David Oakleaf and Paul Wood to examine and rewrite the constitution and to produce an operating document. The meeting agreed by tacit consent to the formation of the committee.
2. Conference President's Report: Alex Sokalski detailed the financial support which the conference had been given. The organizers received $12,000 from the President and the relevant Deans and Department Heads. The projected revenue for the conference was $23,000, but the expected costs were in the region of $24,000 because of the added expense of the plenary speakers. He was seeking an additional sum of approximately $3,500 to fund the publication of the Saskatoon volume of Lumen.
3. Secretary-Treasurer's Report: Paul Wood discussed the finances and membership of the Society. He apologized for the omissions in the last Directory, and promised that a corrected 1994 version would be mailed to all members. He then reminded members to submit receipts with their travel claims, and noted that actual travel costs would be covered, not hotel bills. Discussion followed regarding the policy concerning travel funds. The Secretary Treasurer said that at the last AGM the membership moved to fund Executive travel, but he reminded members that this was contrary to SSHRC policy and to the policy adopted by the Executive.
Michael Cartwright asked about the possibility of drawing up a letter for Executive members so that they could obtain travel funding from their universities. Robert Merrett said that this matter would be dealt with in the operating document. Robert Merrett asked for a vote on the funding of volume XIV of Lumen, which would have to paid for entirely out of Society funds. The vote in favour was unanimous.
4. Lumen: Robert Merrett reported on funding, and said that Queen's would contribute excess money to the rotating fund of the Society. He also reported to the meeting that Alex Sokalski had been nominated as the new Executive Editor. The nomination was accepted by the meeting.
5. Bulletin: David Oakleaf reported that the lack of a conference in 1993 had affected the number of issues, and he appealed to the membership for news to include in future numbers of the Bulletin. He hoped to produce two further issues, one in the autumn, and one in late winter or early spring. Raymond Stephanson asked if the Bulletin could carry articles regarding the teaching of eighteenth-century studies in Canada. Marie Laure Girou Swiderski asked about a regular schedule for the Bulletin, so that there could be fixed deadlines for submissions. Alison Scott-Prelorentzos requested news of members going to special seminars. The question was raised from the floor about producing the Bulletin electronically. Benoît Melançon proposed that the a permanent Society archive be set up on email. However, it was pointed out that email often doesn't reach graduate students. Paul Wood reminded members to give him changes in their email addresses, so that they could be included in the Directory.
6. Future Meetings: The schedule for meetings is: Windsor (1995), Victoria (1996), Trois-Rivieres (1997), University of Western Ontario (1998). 1999 and 2000 are under negotiation. John Wright reported on plans for the Windsor conference on the theme "Freedom and Borders".
7. New Executive: Robert Merrett proposed that the current Executive carry on for one further year in office because of the conference missed in 1993. The proposed slate of officers was accepted. However, Marie Laure Girou Swiderski asked that the Executive ensure in future that equity issues are addressed. The President proposed that Peter Sabor be accepted as the new President of the Society for a term of three years. The meeting acclaimed Peter Sabor as next President.

9. ISECS/AECS/CFH: A report on ISECS was promised for the Bulletin. David Smith was attending the ISECS meeting in Naples. Michael Cartwright was on leave so he did not attend the last ASECS meeting. He nevertheless promised a report. Marie Laure Girou Swiderski announced that NEASECS were meeting in 1995 in Ottawa. Sante Viselli promised a written report on CFH for the Bulletin.
