Scrutin statutaire

L'amendement proposé a été adopté; l'élection d'un nouveau bureau devra donc être tenue lors de l'assemblée générale d'octobre. Merci à tous celles et ceux qui ont enrichi leur scrutin de vote de commentaires: une mise au point sera de rigueur en octobre.

Constitutional Ballot

The proposed constitutional amendment carried: we will elect an Executive on the new pattern at the October general meeting. Thanks to those who included comments: we will clarify some points in October.

General Meeting

We have scheduled the General Meeting on Sunday morning, when it will not compete for time with sessions of papers. Since the new constitution and other important topics await our attention, please plan to to attend and to participate in discussion.

Assemblée genérale

L'assemblée générale a été prévue pour dimanche matin dans le but précis de ne pas rivaliser avec les séances et de permettre un ample débat statutaire et autre. Votre présence et votre participation y seront donc d'une importance capitale.

Répertoire des membres

Le répertoire que vouz trouverez en annexe est complet à l'heure de son impression. Toutefois il ne donne que les noms et affiliations professionnelles. Un état plus détaillé exigerait en effet une collecte de données plus systématique et des modifications à notre modeste base de données. Les champs de recherche, en particulier, son lacunaires: l'épithète «histoire», par exemple, est bien trop vague pour être du moindre recours à la plupart des historiens. Il est à espérer que le nouveau Bureau se chargera de remédier à ce flou.

Directory of Members

The attached directory, complete at time of issue, gives only names and institutional affiliation. A fuller directory would require fuller, more systematic data collection and refinement of our modest database (a WordPerfect merge file). Our records of research areas are especially spotty: the label "History" won't help another member find out who is interested in, say, Revolution pamphleteering. Our new Executive might want to reconsider our data collection.
